Wish List: Dress Link

So, recently I found this clothing company called Dress Link and I have to say that I fell in love with a lot of their pieces. First thing you should know about me, I love a good bargain. As you know, I am indeed a college student and not having a steady level of income can be difficult. I have not gone clothing shopping in quite some time now simply because a lot of my finances are geared towards books, rent, loans, and food. However, as I was browsing the website I was simply astounded by the unbelievably low prices of their clothing! An evening gown for $10? Where else are you going to find something like that. Anyway, I wanted to share what I plan on ordering:

1. I love this top because of the unique layering. It is a perfect piece for summer because it is made from chiffon, which means that it is going to be so light and breathable, perfect for those unbearably hot summer days. Plus, the peek of midriff is just enough to be edgy and not too scandalous. I can see myself wearing this with a white pencil skirt for a full white outfit!

2. I have this thing for matching sets. I find them so cute! However, my obsession with them has not yet been fulfilled as I do not own a matching set. I found this one and knew I had to have it. Sets are perfect for days where you want to look cute, but don’t have the time to plan an outfit. Just throw both of the pieces on and you’re good to go. Of course you can also wear them separately to ultimately maximize the use of each piece.

3. Lastly, I came across this dress and knew that I had to have it. It looks like something you would find in Zara. I love the blue detailing that lines the bottom and the top. This would be the perfect summer outfit. Just throw on a pair of brown gladiators and you’re good to go. It almost reminds me of architecture in europe. I wish I was going there this summer because I can picture myself wearing this as I sit in a european cafe.. is that weird? Haha!

All three of these pieces + shipping came to be about $20. The frugal side of me died and went to heaven when I saw my total. Dress Link is perfect for purchasing some of your more trendy clothing pieces without breaking the bank. Some of their clothing articles go as low as one cent?! I cannot wait to show you how I style each one!

Splash of Color

Boscov’s cardigan
Old Navy sports bra
PINK pencil skirt
H&M sandals

I was about to wear yet another all black outfit today..but this geometric, sheer cardigan caught my eye as I was looking through my closet. My grandmother bought me this from Boscov’s like 6 years ago.. I love bringing it back out for summer. It’s perfect because it’s a chiffon material so you can use it as outerwear, but it isn’t too heavy. It brightens my otherwise dark outfit by adding vibrant colors.  How do you stay cool in the summer? 🙂

Off Duty

Amazon bikini (here)

A couple of months ago I decided to take a risk and order a bikini online. I am always so hestitant ordering things like that because so often they will end up not fitting me right and I hate returning things from online. Most likely I do not even attempt to ship it back because I am so lazy when it comes to that and ultimately end up wasting my money. However, I was given a giftcard to Amazon and came across this one and next thing I knew,  I placed an order. I am so happy though! It fits like a glove and the quality is pretty decent for the price that it is. Just be weary of those awkward tan lines on your stomach!

Dreary

 H&M flannel
Forever 21 tank, sandals (here)
Bullhead ripped jeans

This week has been significantly cold and dreary in comparison to the last couple of weeks. Today, I went shopping with my friend and was forced to dress in layers and even so I was still cold! I have tried several times to sell this sheer, high-low tank but no store wants to purchase it. So, I decided it was fate and wore it today. It’s hard to find an outerwear piece that won’t look weird with it since it’s so long but I really liked how it looked with my favorite flannel!

Paint It Black

American Apparel skirt (here)
Marshall’s crop top
H&M boots
Forever 21 necklace
Sheinside sunglasses (here)

Although it is nice to wear bright, spring colors during the warmer seasons, I somehow always gravitate back towards what I love most – black. Today’s look is very dark, however I wore clothes that I could still breathe and be cool in.
As always, I accessorized with gold. I used to consider myself a silver person, but these days I have been wearing gold non-stop. Plus, I found these awesome clip-on earrings I got several years ago. I had my ears pierced since I was three months old, but a couple of years ago I had to let them close up. Oh how I missed earrrings so much. I will definitely need to purchase more clip-ons! What did you do today?

Mondaze

Ann Taylor Loft blouse
Zara skirt
Mossimo heels

I don’t know about you, but I love when things match. Today’s outfit is based off my new shoes that I scored from Target for less than $10! I am so broke, but I could not help myself when I saw this deal. They are a little bit big (size 6 when I am a 5) so I had to create another hole for the strap. However, they are super comfortable and could easily be worn for long increments of time. I based my outfit off these shoes and went with a tan blouse and grey skirt, a color combination I never would have thought of if I have not had these shoes. I complimented the outfit with some simple gold jewelry.
By the way, if you’re into chill rap music, I made a new playlist on 8tracks! Check it here.

Hidden Jewel

 H&M blazer, cami
Jewel Toned “out all night” skirt (here)
Forever 21 heels

H&M crop top
Jewel Toned “out all night” skirt (here)
Mossimo heels

I was ecstatic when I saw this skirt in my mailbox from Jewel Toned. First of all, let me set this straight. This skirt is shapewear a.k.a. a garment that supposed to remain strictly under your outfit, not seen by anyone else but you. Throw this misconception away. Shapewear is a staple that is perfect to use as the base of your outfit. And if you happen to have some as cute as the ones from Jewel Toned, I promise you will want to let people see!
I love this skirt because of the bright, bold color. If you have been a reader of Enclothed Cognition for some time now, you know I gravitate towards black and other neutral colors. However, this skirt is so beautiful, I had to make an exception. It screams summer. In the first outfit I showed a more work appropriate option where you can use the Out All Night mini as a pencil skirt. However, in the second outfit  showed how you can wear it out as is. I also love this piece because of the actual quality. It’s such comfortable fabric that really slims your entire body. Plus, the lace and subtle polka dots make it so cute!
Would you wear shapewear as outerwear? 🙂

Retro

Forever 21 crop top, sandals, sunglasses
Zara mini skirt

I don’t know why, but this shirt gives me retro vibes. It always reminds me of Mad Men whenever I wear it. Anyone else watch that show? If not, I highly recommend it. Don Draper is so dreamy and the 60s fashion is to die for. I cannot believe that the series is ending soon. I’m going to miss it so much! What should I watch next? I haven’t really found a new series to watch besides a few episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Cutthroat Kitchen every here and there. I was debating diving into the whole Breaking Bad thing, but I feel like that’s so much commitment and I don’t know if I am ready for that, haha.

Don’t Leaf Me

H&M blouse
Zara shorts
Forever 21 sandals

First day of “summer” and my roomie and I headed into center city to celebrate. We grabbed dinner and then headed to Rittenhouse Park. It was such a beautiful day to relax and people watch! Plus, there were so many people with dogs and when dogs are present it’s never a bad time. So glad it is so hot out so I can pull out these shorts again from last year. They’re so comfortable and the banana leaf(?) print on them is so cute and fun!

Liberated!

Forever 21 jacket, dress
H&M sandals
Urban Outfitters necklace

Freedom! I have just completed my last final exam this morning, as I am sure you are all grateful to hear because I will cease complaining about them nonstop, haha. Seriously, it is such a overwhelming  sense of relief to be done with the semester. The necklace I am wearing further reflects my mood…
I cannot wait to relax for a bit. Now that I don’t have to worry about school the upcoming months, I hope to dedicate a lot more time to Enclothed Cognition. Lot’s of things planned, so stay tuned and as always thanks for reading ❤
