Urban Aesthetic

H&M blazer & shorts, Old Navy striped top, Forever 21 necklace, Vera Wang booties

I decided to venture up to my apartment’s rooftop for today’s post! Every time I come up, the view always manages to take my breath away. There’s something about a city’s skyline that is just so alluring.
No surprise. Another outfit featuring yet another blazer of mine. I love this one because the lapel/collarless detail adds a different aesthetic to an otherwise ordinary blazer. I think this outfit would look so badass if I had a sleeve of tattoos..

Daggers & Roses

Forever 21 blazer, necklace, Goodwill muscle tank, H&M denim shorts, Cole Haan loafers
Today is so ridiculously hot out and I am getting fed up! As much as I enjoyed the warm weather, this look would have been 100x better with a pair of pants, but alas, that cannot be done today unless I want to sacrifice myself to the burning sun. I know weather talk is rather boring, so I’ll leave it at that.
I always enjoy a good blazer though. I believe I have 5 or 6 blazers in my wardrobe, but my blazer fiend is endless. I need moreee! I just love the versatility. You can wear one casually (as before) or use it to dress up any outfit. I love structured pieces, so obviously I love the structure of a tailored blazer.
Can you believe it is Thursday already? I love 4 day weeks. I wish labor day was every Monday.. 🙂

Inspiration: Clean & Simple

I just wrapped up my summer internship where I was in charge of marketing for a co-op fashion designer boutique in Philadelphia. For some reason, I feel as if my school work isn’t enough to keep me preoccupied at the moment, so I’m hoping to snag another internship or a part-time job. Over the weekend I was browsing the internet and came across a stylist internship for Urban Outfitters. To apply, I needed to supply a resume, cover letter, and an inspiration board. So, thus I spent the next hour putting together what you see above. (Looking now, I can see I added two of those antler things and it’s killing me)

As you can clearly see, currently I’ve been inspired by clean, simple silhouettes and designs. Dusty cream, greys, and blues are what I’ve been drawn too, especially in the form of a chunky sweater, duster coat, or trousers. So, I did some online window shopping and curated a small collection of items that go along with my inspiration board! To see more of what is inspiring me at the moment check out my fashion tumblr.

Asos longline duster jacket – $116.08
Asos barts jasmin scarf – $63.83
Topshop PU assymetric skort – $68
H&M knit turtleneck sweater – $59.95

Goin Up on a Tuesday

Ann Taylor LOFT blouse, Bullhead denim, H&M heels, Forever 21 necklaces, Francesca’s backpack

I call this look, “business meets hobo”. Recently I have been loving classic, timeless pieces (such as this blouse) paired with something slightly more edgy and unconventional (such as these jeans). I just think that adding contrast to any outfit instantly makes it more interesting. I remember finding these jeans from PacSun for life 5 bucks on their sale rack. Believe it or not, they weren’t as ripped up when I first got them, but they’ve been through hell and back now. But I shall wear them until I can no longer wear them anymore. Quick appreciation for Bullhead denim. To this day, no brand of jeans have fit my non-curvy, petite, short, stick legs as nicely as these! They hug in all the right places.
