Happy hump day, babes! Here’s some quick snaps of what I wore on Thanksgiving Day. I decided to keep it pretty casual and went for these black flared denim jeans with a raw hem cut. These are actually my first pair of flared jeans since I was a tween! I am so obsessed with them. Definitely an item I wish I purchased sooner because now they are going to be one of my wardrobe staples. I honestly felt like it was the 1980s and I was Nancy Wheeler from Stranger Things about to encounter the demogorgan or something 😂. Do you have a pair of flared jeans? How do you wear them?

Good morning, lovelies! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My day consisted of constant eating, as it should. #noregrets

Today’s all black outfit features these amazing Rag & Bone pants I found for $4 at Goodwill! Although, I had to get them hemmed, it was still one of my best thrift finds yet. What other way to wear them than with an all black outfit? I thought the pinstripes and lace were a perfect combo.

Also, I threw in a photo of the roses my boyfriend gave me! He’s the cutest. It’s actually the first time someone has ever given my flowers (took him long enough, lol jk). I hope everyone has a great week as we move into the last month of 2016!

Cozy Life

Happy Wednesday!! 1 day away until we can stuff our faces all day long with a valid excuse, haha. What are your Thanksgiving plans? I am going to my grandparents for lunch and than my uncle’s for dinner aka nothing but eating and indulging, but that’s what the holiday is all about, right?

I am grateful that in the streetwear world, track pants are fashion forward! I recently picked these up from H&M and they are so comfortable to wear. I paired it with a tight crop top so it could balance the whole look out and I don’t look too lost, especially with my XL bomber jacket layered on top. Ya honestly cannot get much more cozy after this!

Also, grateful for all of you guys who continually read my blog posts. I hope everyone celebrating Thanksgiving has a safe & enjoyable day. May the tryptophan not hit you too hard! ❤

Casual Monday

Happy Monday, babes!! I am officially on fall break, so today’s outfit is very reflective of that and my rather lax mood. I am wearing my favorite tan crewneck, DIY thrifted denim, and leather Vans (and if you zoom in on my necklace you can find a very, subtle message). Alas, the ultimate comfy, casual look.

I have been diligently trying to workout in preparation for days of non-stop chilling and eating. Do you guys workout? I hate going to the gym so I actually do a lot of YouTube workout videos. If you have an at home exercise recommendation, please let me know! I am always looking for new ways to get some exercise. For instance, I recently started getting into dance workouts like zumba.

It’s What’s Inside that Counts ft. MD Gear

Happy hump day, lovelies!! Today, I have something different to share with you. Instead of my usual outfit post, let’s talk about what’s underneath today. I don’t have too much experience with shapewear, but I received some pieces from MD Gear and I am now wondering how I survived so long without it?

I got a nude compression bodysuit which is my favorite out of the two. Honestly, I am going to wear this as a top too (like above) and not just under some clothes. I have been obsessed with wearing tan, so it actually is a cute, body hugging shirt with lace trim. This bodysuit shapes the bust, tummy, back, waist, hips, and rear to really emphasis all your curves. I also received compression yoga pants which are also in a neutral skin color. This product tightens the tummy, waist, and reduces muffin tops for an hourglass look. To be honest, I felt like I was modeling Yeezy LOL. Both products are made with breathable and innovative fabric that adapts flawlessly to your skin. Plus, not only are they ideal for shaping, but also if you want to add a protective layer under your outfit as we start to move into winter.

Wishlist #9: Holidays

I cannot be alone in thinking it is absolutely crazy that we are approaching holiday season? I went to the mall with my mom the other day and was totally caught off guard when a store was playing Christmas music and almost keeled over when I saw children already taking pictures with Santa. The retail industry always seems to start the holidays a week earlier every year.

Nonetheless, I thought I would make a wishlist to help get me in the mood! No matter what you might say, holidays are a great excuse to get dressed up. I shopped around and found a few pieces that would be good to wear to a festive party. Although, as you can see, I picked all black items because I thought I would stay true to myself and I know a lot of my readers always gravitate towards this never-failing color too! It’s a State of Mind

Happy humpday, lovelies. For my new readers, do you know why I chose the name, Enclothed Cognition, as the title of my blog? Enclothed cognition is the idea that what we wear greatly affects our mood and outlook. Thus, if we wear what we love and feel confident in, our mood will reflect this and has a much more positive impact on your daily life. So, girl if you feel comfortable in that crop top and heels or those sweatpants and baseball cap, do not worry about what anyone else is going to think of it and just worry about slaaaying!Today’s outfit features my two favorite colors to wear: black and tan. I was actually just running errands on this day and was like is this too much? Never. This entire outfit is comprised of some of my favorite things to wear right now: long duster, crop top, joggers, and sock boots! Definitely got a couple of strange looks from some people in the food store, but  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Sweater Weather

I rarely ever shoot from my bedroom due to its awkward layout, but on this day I was so attracted to the gentle light streaming through my window, I just had to. I wore this to work for a comfortable, casual look. This sweater is different from all the ones that I own thanks to its feminine structure. Absolutely love the mock neck and the endearing way the sleeves puff out. I paired it with some white denim to complete the entire look.

Lastly, I just want to end with some encouragement to get out and vote tomorrow! From my perspective, our political environment is on the brink of embarrassment and failure (if we have not reached it already) and a vote is a simple way to let your voice be heard.

Happy Friday, babes!! This was such a hectic week for me, so I am glad it’s coming to a close. The transportation system in Philadelphia, Septa, decided to go on strike and for someone who commutes to school it made life a lot more difficult.

Anyways, I tried to stay positive during the long commute and wore this cozy outfit one day. I had to wait around for my train that was an hour late, but at least I was comfy and cute, right?! I love this Champion/UO long-sleeve tee. Lately, I have been adding this deep forrest green into my otherwise monochrome outfits. I stayed warm in this white denim coat. I love how it’s fleece lined! Lastly, for ultimate cozy vibes, I wore my favorite ultraboost.

October Favorites

Hello, lovelies! Hope everyone is having a great week. I wanted to do a monthly favorites because I have not in so long. There was  just a couple things I have been obsessing over this past October, so let’s jump right into it.

1. The color red. I don’t know if it is just me, but my love for the color of red (and all its’ shades) is more enhanced when it is autumn time. Red is just such a lovely rich, luxurious shade and it just seems to match the crispness of the air and the turn of the leaves. So obviously, this past month I have loved wearing red and this comes in many forms: clothing, nail polish, lipstick shade, and even lingerie. I have been adoring this strappy red bralette. Even if I am wearing the frumpiest sweatshirt, a good bralette always makes me feel more confident and put together, even if no one can see it!

2. Fishnet Socks. Speaking of accessories, I have also been loving these funky fishnet socks which you may have seen already on my instagram. I love the way they look peaking out from underneath my booties. It just adds an unexpected element to any outfit!

3. Roy Woods. As for my music favorite, October has been all about Roy Woods for me. He’s signed to OVO and is similar to dvsn, drake, and partynextdoor. if you are into that chill alternative r&b vibe, you will absolutely fall in love with Roy Woods music. Above is his Skrt remix but my other favorites include “Jealousy” and “How I Feel“.
