Thrifted lace cardigan, Forever 21 crop top & ring, Zara mini skirt, H&M boots
Spring Break has finally arrived! It’s nice to be able to take a break from seemingly never-ending school work and to finally relax. This beautiful Saturday afternoon I went out and had lunch with a few friends. On the way, I recently rediscovered my dad’s old Eagles CD and it was the perfect driving soundtrack. I highly recommend it!
Later, I had a mini photo shoot with my goofball dog. I can’t get enough of him. Hehe
Last night I came across the above image on Tumblr and for some reason it transcended my thoughts (maybe because it was like 2 AM). I thought back on my life and when it comes to wearing “what I like”, I am quite proud of myself. All the way back to elementary school, I was always interested in clothes. To me, school was a bore, but if I was wearing a cute outfit that day it made it much more bearable. It’s kind of ironic because I was always really introverted and shy but somewhere along the road I learned to not give a fuck about what people thought of how I dressed. A couple of times in middle school, a few girls would look me up and down and ask me why I was “so dressed up” when it is just school. I would always shrug.
It is unfortunate that most
girls people are so quick to judge others based on appearance alone. Basically, moral of my rant, is to not care what others might think of you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with dressing to impress. As long as you feel good, nothing else should matter.
La Perla is a brand that I have always lusted after. Everything they produce is of the highest quality and unique. I am obsessed with all of their latest lingerie in their new catalog, especially the sheer cut-outs that they featured in many of the designs. It definitely adds sex appeal while continuing to remain classy and feminine. One day I will go on a spree and buy everything from La Perla, but for now I will flip through their catalog multiple times lusting over it!
PS: The men’s stuff was definitely unique. Not quite sure what to make of some of the sleepwear outfits like the last picture (haha).
H&M blazer, trousers, lace crop top Forever 21 heels
This is my not-so-typical suit. At first glance, it looks like your standard blazer x trouser combo that you see in the office, but I added a few elements that are not so traditional. This blazer is one of my favorites because of the subtle leather detailing around the collar and the no-lapel structure. But I think the crop top is the most surprising piece. A crop top in a business attire? Yes! I made sure my midriff was not overly exposed and I think that lace can be a sophisticated and feminine touch.
H&M shirt & choker, Bullhead skinny jeans, Mossimo heels, Forever 21 rings
I feel in love with this shirt at H&M the other day. I am obsessed with the neckline and the asymmetrical bottom. I feel that this would be a cute outfit for this upcoming Valentine’s Day! It’s perfect for wearing out to dinner or maybe a girl’s night out! One can never ever go wrong with black-on-black with a splash of gold!
Hey guys! Here’s some things that you can do to make this Valentine’s Day special!
1. Dress Cute. I love seeing Valentine’s Day inspired outfits. Whether you’re dressing to impress your significant other, or just for yourself, you should look good! Personally, I love dressing festive for any occasion so break out the pink and red!
2. Lacy panties! Admit it. Nothing makes you feel better than having your legs shaved (just sayin) and wearing cute underwear. Who cares if no one sees it? If it makes you feel good, then hell with it. The four pairs I have pictured above are all from H&M and they were all on clearance for $1!
3. Take pictures! I am obsessed with cute couple pictures. I always see the most adorable ones on tumblr and it just makes me melt. On the other hand, if you’re single, grab your girls and have a girls night out. Don’t forget to document your night with cute pictures to post on instagram!
4. Make some goodies! I attempted to make chocolate covered strawberries, but to my surprise it was actually quite difficult so they’re not the most aesthetically pleasing (but they taste freaking amazing). Or you can purchase these holiday sugar cookies with cute (kinda deformed) hearts on them! These never fail to please, plus they are so easy to make!
5. Play music.
If there’s one thing I can’t live without, it is music. I feel like my world is over if I forget to bring my headphones with me somewhere. Love music is my absolute favorite and I even created a playlist
for you all! It features my favorite romantic music that will definitely put you in that lovey-dovey mood. If you don’t like that, I recommend the “R&B Love Songs” playlist on Pandora.
That’s it! I hope you all have an amazing Valentine’s Day, whether taken or single. I send out my love to all of you!
SEPHORA COLLECTION Rouge Shine Lipstick (Forever Yours) – $12.50
This color is perfect for everyday wear. It has a semi-sheer finish so it isn’t too harsh or loud. My lips get dry very quickly and I hate when a lipstick dries them out even further. But not too fear, this one does not! It’s actually quite moisturizing for a lipstick and doesn’t leave your lips looking cracked as the day goes on.
Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balm (Sultry) – $8.99
Although this isn’t as moisturizing as the aforementioned lip product, I love it more. It’s matte so it does not have a glossy finish, but it makes up for that in staying power. It lasts a couple of hours and can even withstand some eating and drinking. Plus, it has a minty smell which was a pleasant surpise!
Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel (Black Jack & Queen of Hearts) – $7.99
My friend gave the gray color to me for Christmas and now I want every color. I do my nails once every week and because of the base within the polish, I find that it doesn’t chip nearly as much as some of my other polishes. I mostly like it because I never put on a base/top coat because I am lazy…
Thayer’s Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel with Organic Aloe Vera toner – $9.95
A toner has never been a necessary step in my skincare routine but I do enjoy the fresh feeling that they provide. I decided to try out this one that I just happened to stumble upon. I definitely feel that it has made my skin softer. My favorite thing about it though is the smell. As soon as you take a sniff you are transported to the nicest rose garden your mind can conjure.
