Dust in the Wind

Hey, lovelies! Finally, I am back with a new outfit post. My laptop was delivered to me yesterday after getting a part replaced. I honestly did not realize I was so dependent on my Macbook, but this past week as a struggle trying to be productive without it. However, it’s back and working properly!

I cannot stop wearing this black duster! I think it is such a nice layering piece for fall outfits and I love the length it hits on me because it almost elongates my body, giving the illusion that I am taller (which is always a plus for me). I styled it with a men’s Stussy t-shirt (no surprise there, guys) and some classic, grey trousers. Complete with my everyday accessories, including my Daniel Wellington watch and gold ear cuff.

Philadelphia Fashion Week – Macy’s Front Row

Hey, lovelies! First off, I apologize for my infrequent posting. I had to abandon my usual schedule because I have had a ton of school work and top top it off, my laptop was malfunctioning and I had to send it in for repair, so I am computerless for 5 business days…(currently borrowing my brother’s). I feel like I lost a limb.

Anyways, last week was Philadelphia Fashion Week and I was lucky enough to be invited the Philadelphia Incubator Show at Macy’s. I got a preview of Macy’s latest ready-to-wear styles. This was pretty neat because after the show, the audience was able to shop the runway pieces right away. As far as fall trends, there was a lot of shades of deep red and it was all about the accessories.

We also got to see a preview of upcoming spring pieces from the current class of Philadelphia Fashion Incubator designers. This is a non-profit collaboration between the City of Philadelphia, Macy’s, and the Center City district where they take local fashion designers and work with them for 1 year to help build their brand by offering a variety of resources, workspace, and mentoring. Hands down, my favorite were the designs from Milano Di Rouge,  a beautiful collection of men and women street wear styles.

Lastly, they brought out Mah-Jing Wong, a previous Project Runway contestant, with stunning denim pieces. Absolutely in love with this graphic tee!

This was such a lovely experience and it makes me so happy to see such wonderful talent coming from Philadelphia. Our city is definitely rising to the top of the fashion game and I am glad to be here in the midst of it!

I’m in a Magazine!?

Hey, lovelies! A couple of weeks ago I was a interviewed for a new company, Model Citizen, a creator platform and magazine. Just recently introduced in June, Model Citizen is the newest place to find talent. Owners, James Panarettos and Macky Suson, incepted MC after they witnessed a beautiful model crying for not landing a job, but the two of them could see her huge potential. This inspired them to create a place where talent, big or small, could be recognized because the fashion industry should be a collective community. Their online magazine recognizes a plethora of models, designers, photographers, and bloggers and honestly, looking at the faces in the latest September issue really makes me question how I made it in?!

Maybe it is because I do not have to be physically in school on hump days (cheers for 1 online class), but I have been obsessing over sleepwear and loungewear lately. I am usually the type to wear an old t-shirt to sleep, however there is something so romantic, Parisian, and dreamy about wearing a nice set of pajamas — especially for lazy Sundays.

Divided We Stand

Happy Monday, lovelies! Let me tell you a quick story about this t-shirt. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect Christmas gift for my boyfriend given the upfront saying, eagle graphic and his genuine love of the Fuct brand. However, it’s a size small and he usually wears a medium and so here we are. He ended up giving it back to me and I swear to you I never meant for this to happen. And can  I just say this one shirt sums up my entire feeling about this upcoming presidential election? Not to bring politics in but I think we are pretty much #fuct.

On a side note, is anyone going to the Bloglovin’ H&M Awards tonight in NYC?! I won tickets from H&M to attend but unfortunately the event starts at 9PM and not ideal for my commute from Philadelphia and my class tomorrow morning. I am so bummed I had to pass up the opportunity, but if any of my followers are going let me know. I would love to hear about how it was and sulk about what I missed (jk kinda). Risk Taker

Happy Friday, lovelies! When I posted a photos of this outfit on my instagram, I joked and said that I like to take risks by wearing all white. But I am serious! I love how crisp and put together an all white ensemble looks like, however I do get a bit of anxiety because I know it is just my luck to spill hot sauce all over myself that day haha. However, a girl’s gotta live and sometimes you need to take a chance, right?

Look Back At It

Happy hump day, lovelies! I loved the summer bodysuit trend and was not ready for it to end quite yet. This is my take on the bodysuit worked into a more autumn appropriate outfit. I paired it with my favorite pair of thrifted/DIY denim and a tan bomber jacket.

Are any of my readers lucky enough to be attending NYFW? I wish I was but will be living vicariously via blogger IG updates and new articles, sigh. Nonetheless, I am so excited for what the biggest week of fashion will reveal regarding upcoming trends. I cannot wait to see how the Tommy Hilfiger carnival will be like and I highly recommend you read about it here to get a snapshot of their brilliant marketing strategy. Wishlist #6: Minimal is Key

Happy Monday, lovelies! What better way to start the grueling week than with a bit of fashion inspiration. Feast your eyes upon the gorgeous outfit from designer Ji Oh’s Resort 17 collection. Recently, I stumbled upon this up-and-coming designer from Korea (ayy represent) and instantly fell in love with all of her creations. I believe she is a designer who really captures the essence of minimal style and this is evident all 5 of her released collections. Unfortunately, I am not able to purchase from her made-to-order shop, however I can get some serious inspiration from her work and curated a small collection from around the web that have a similar (and more affordable feel)!

Are You Am I (For a Fraction of the Price)

Hey, lovelies! Happy Friday! The brand Are You Am I by blogger Rumi Neely has been blowing up the internet lately. Kendall and Kylie Jenner and several other celebrities have been seen wearing their pieces. I love how their clothes are very body-hugging and flattering…but one thing I do not like is their price. Such a struggle when you want everything but can’t afford anything, haha.

However, broke girls, I gotcha. I found the perfect Are You Am I Croft Hoodie knockoff for a fraction of the price. This cropped hooded pullover from Zaful is very similar to the AYAI one and a nice medium-weight sweatshirt perfect for the fall season. I think it looks so cute with a skirt (like above) or high-waisted denim. Staying cozy and fashionable is sometimes a difficult feat, but this hoodie definitely makes it easier.
