Maxwell Scott: Premium Men’s Leather Bag

This article was created in friendly collaboration with Maxwell Scott.

“A compact and yet spacious leather holdall bag with a detachable shoulder strap, perfect for a weekend away”

A couple of weeks ago, my boyfriend kindly agreed to an interview conducted by me on his perspective of men’s fashion and confidence. Even prior to dating him, I always appreciated Surim’s sense of style and how he carried himself. A representative from Maxwell Scott Bags surely thought the same when she happened to stumble upon the post and offered him to choose a product from their collection of leather goods. Thus, his first company collaboration thanks to me and my blog, haha! Is this a sign we should provide him a dedicated men’s style section to Enclothed Cognition??

Anyways,  he opted for the dark chocolate brown FleroS, a small genuine leather holdall bag for men, which he thought would be ideal for short travels and carrying to and from work. It’s also available in chestnut tan and night black.

Upon unboxing, both of us were really impressed by the sheer quality of the bag. You could smell the leather as soon as I removed it from the dust bag. Maxwell Scott Bags is a British family-owned business that was founded in 2002. Each bag is handcrafted in Italy and the amount of love and care that goes into the product is immediately evident.

After toting it to and form work, Surim reported to me that the bag has been durable and he would gladly recommend it to any guy looking for a premium men’s leather bag or duffle bag. It comfortably fit the things he needs for work and his laptop, with room for more. In addition to business attire, he also suggests it would look good with a more dressed down look. For instance, a shirt and a pair of selvedge denim would be perfect for a weekend casual vibe.

All in all, Surim praises the FleroS for being the ideal men’s leather travel bag. This will surely remain in his wardrobe for years to come!

Location: Sea Isle City, NJ

I enjoyed a long weekend trip to Sea Isle City, NJ with my family – our annual vacation spot. My family is still there, but I only spent a couple of days there so I could come back to work. Nonetheless, we tried to jam pack as much relaxation into the three days we spent there together. Of course this included several rendezvouses at the beach and indulging in food – one meal a simple hot sauce smothered hot dog and the other an extensive sea food dinner enjoyed right next to the dock.

Personally, I wouldn’t choose to keep going to Sea Isle every year, simply because I enjoy exploring a new place, but my parents absolutely love it here and it’s not hard to see why. It’s only a 2 hour drive away from home and it is indeed a real ideal place to getaway for a few days. Not only do you have the beach, but there’s plenty of good restaurants and little activities to keep yourself occupied. The nightlife at Sea Isle is also pretty poppin too. Plus, it’s just a short drive away from Atlantic City, Ocean City, and Wildwood – some other popular New Jersey beach cities. Above all, it was really nice to spend some time with my family. I hope you all had an amazing weekend as well!

Shofuso Japanese House & Garden

Happy Friday, loves! Earlier this week, I dragged my boyfriend to Shofuso, a Japanese house and tea garden located in West Philadelphia. I have been wanting to go for the longest time and we were finally able to find a day to visit. Walking through this traditional house was honestly a dream because I absolutely live for Japanese aesthetic.  Not to mention, Japan is number 1 on my list of places I want to travel, so this kind of satisfied my desire (just for a little though).

It was such a beautiful location and it’s crazy to think it is just a 10 minute drive away from Center City, Philadelphia. I highly recommend visiting if you are ever in the area. It is worthwhile!

A Day in NYC

Remember how I mentioned I was going to be in New York for spring break? Well, that trip was condensed into just one day since this Nor’easter just so happened to be at the same time. All the weather forecasts were calling for 12-18 inches of snow in NYC and at my home in Philly. Needless to say, my friends and I thought it was not worth paying for an airbnb only to be stuck inside it for the majority of the trip.

However, we did go on Monday and had an immense shopping trip. We braved the bitter cold and basically hit all the good stores in Soho. I only picked up a new pair of sunglasses from Urban Outfitters and this gorgeous cream bodysuit from Top Shop though. I was kind of in a picky mood, so I didn’t want to buy anything else, but I was very happy with my purchases!

We also met up with Diana from Queen Horsfall and she joined us for some shopping and food. We found this pretty good restaurant in Little Italy and the artichoke pizza was amazing! We wandered around with her for awhile, before ending the night with some guilty pleasure fries from Shake Shake. Mmm.

It was a lovely, fun-filled day trip. We were a bit bummed we couldn’t stay in the city longer, but ya’ll now I will be back soon! x

A #NYFW Minute

Striped Midi Sweater Dress

Yuna Yang‘s 2017 collection was titled “Lights in the Shadow”. She was inspired by the recent political protests in both South Korea and the United States. In Korea, many citizens took to the streets to protest President Park’s corruption and improper influence and in the States, we witnessed the largest organized protest — the Women’s March. The collection is a visual representation of the unity from all the women around the world. The looks feature prints with dancing lights and measured shadows.
*Insert trip to Chelsea Market, a delicious meal of Chinese cuisine, and a pregame consisting of many glasses of wine*
We ended the night at the clubs, Gilded Lily and Up&Down. It was filled with lots of good music and dancing and inevitably lead to my friend and I eating pizza and our left over Chinese food at 4am in our hotel room, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. My NYFW experience was quick, but I enjoyed every moment of it and can’t wait to go back to this amazing city soon!
Also, check out the lovely article Lookbook wrote about me on their blog. 😭💘

Adventure: Bermuda

Stepping off the cruise ship and onto the dock in King’s Wharf, Bermuda was a worldly experience. It was like coming out of a portal into a utopia of sunshine and happiness. Seriously. This island was enchanted and filled to the brim with friendly people and stunning scenery. We spent a total of 3 days docked at the island and let me tell you, it was not enough time. I wish I had at least an entire week to explore every unique crevice of the land.

We arrived in the midst of one of their national holidays and 2 day cricket match so since a lot of locals had a couple days off, our plans were a bit jostled. We ended up spending 2/3 days at Horseshoe Bay, Bermuda’s most beautiful beach with its’ famous pink sand.

I do not travel as often or as nearly as I would want to, but experiencing this place head on has definitely left me with this insatiable desire to go to more places and experience the beauty of the world. So grateful to my grandmother for giving me the opportunity to travel to such a beautiful place. ❤

Adventure: En Route to Bermuda

Hello, lovelies! I am back home in the states and it is a bittersweet feeling as I fell absolutely in love with Bermuda but was also eager to get back home (to see my dog). This pretty much concludes all my travel for the duration of the summer and I savored every moment of it.

Why did I go on this cruise you ask? Well, my grandmother surprised my dad’s side of the family with a cruise to Bermuda (22 people total) in honor my grandfather who passed away earlier this year. We all went to celebrate his life and it was so special because we got to spend a lot of time together.

I took a lot of photos on this trip and decided to break it up into 2 separate parts so I don’t completely bombard you with photos, haha. These are a compilation of photos from aboard the ship, Celebrity Summit, which was beautiful, spotless and staffed with the friendliest people.

Honestly, my favorite part was the dinner overnight (of course LOL). Some of the most memorable dishes were the escargot, frog legs and lobster. I came home to a wimpy salad for dinner Sunday night and longed for those 3-4 course meals we were given.

We had to spend a lot of time on the boat and I would definitely recommend this line of cruises to anyone. The entertainment at night could use it a bit of revamping and modernizing, but we still had a lot of fun regardless. I’ll have part II of my Bermuda post up later this week and I’ll show you the breathtaking beach we went to on the island.

Adventure: Annapolis, MD

My boyfriend’s family makes an annual trip to Annapolis, MD every year for Memorial Day and they were kind enough to let me tag along. It was my first time there and I was blown away by how beautiful the capital of Maryland was. We took a boat ride, ate a delicious meal of fresh crabs, and wandered the town. Despite the rain that took over the majority of our trip, the beauty of the town was not dampened and we got the most out of it!

I only managed to take a couple of photos, but thought you would enjoy them. It is so important to get away (it doesn’t even have to be far) and to take a few moments to get a break from the hustle and bustle of life. Take in your surroundings and enjoy the little moments. I do not mean to get all preachy and sentimental, but this trip reminded me of that and now I remind you guys too 🙂 For those of you in the US, I hope you all had a lovely Memorial Day!

Adventure: Longwood Gardens

Last week my boyfriend and I ventured to Longwood Gardens, a plant sanctuary just an hour drive away. It honestly felt like a different world. Tucked away in the conservatory were a bunch of exotic plants and flowers and like a true blogger, one of my favorites was the room filled with succulents and cacti.
Outside there was garden upon garden of beautifully manicured greenery. The entire time I was blown away by how scrupulous the gardeners have to work. There seriously was not a leaf out of place. If you are ever in the Pennsylvania area, definitely consider spending a few hours here! Especially if the weather is just right as there is quite a bit of walking. 🙂

Travel Diaries: Troy, NY

NYC, NY

This past weekend I traveled to upstate Troy, New York to visit my best friend in college. She attends Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (a school comprised of mostly engineers) and is graduating in just a few months. Since it’s my spring break, I finally had the chance to head up to visit her. She gave me a lovely tour of her beautiful campus and I took some photos to document. Overall, I had a wonderful time! It was a great way to start my break!
